Sevettijärvi Church

Sevettijärvi is located in the North side of the Lake Inari, close by border line of Norway. Orthodox Church is in the middle of the small village Sevettijärvi.

It is the first orthodox church in the municipality of Inari. Built in year 1951. The first Orthodox inhabitants arrived in the municipality of Inari after the Second World War.
Skolt Sámi and Petsamos Karelian people were evacuated from Petsamo area to the villages Sevettijärvi, Nellim and Kevätjärvi.

Orthodox Church of Lapland

Orthodox Church of Lapland covers almost whole Lapland. Main Church is in Rovaniemi.
In Inari municipality most of parishioner are Skolt Sámi. Churchs and Chapel are built there where the people are:
• Church in Ivalo (1960)
• Church in Nellim (1987)
• Church in Sevettijärvi (1951)arrived
• Chapel in Keväjärvi (2008)
